Best Advice for International Students Seeking Employment in the U.S.A

Living overseas is a vision, and job hunting as an international student is even more significant. After graduating as an international student in the United States, your next goal should be to find suitable employment and make the most of your opportunity to stay in America. However, finding a job in the United States can be difficult for foreign students.

It's encouraging that international student enrollment at US universities appears to be on the emergence again, and those career opportunities in the US are numerous. As a result, many international students will be searching for employment in 2022 and beyond. And, to gain a better understanding of the career environment for international students, scheduled a consultation with me.

I have 5 steps to get a job in the United States easily:

#1. Draw up a list of businesses for which you'd want to work

You can conduct some company research and create a list of businesses to target in your job hunt. The internet provides all of the information you need, and it is simple to find accurate data about prospective employers. Once you've narrowed it down to your dream employers, you should do some extra engagement to get your application noticed. You may also be able to sign up for email alerts when new job openings are posted. Have you created a list of employers in mind where you'd like to find employment? If there's none, then I am willing to help you.

#2. Connect with a Career Coach Expert

As a Latina immigrant, working in tech, I’ve been rejected hundreds of times. I’ve feared losing my legal status in the USA for years even after pursuing a degree at a top-rated University and holding jobs that rewarded my performance continuously. After countless attempts to position myself as a standout candidate,  I finally learned exactly what works (aka gets you in that top 1% even if you’re an immigrant) and what doesn’t (aka what ensures nobody ever calls you in for an interview).

The truth? Landing a dream career in the USA is not about where you’re from, your skills, education, or experience, it’s just a matter of mindset and strategies. Today, I focus on both supporting other foreign students and working professionals with a dream of pursuing a career in the USA.

#5. Learn to follow up

Communication, Dialogue, Inquiry, E-Mail, Post

This is an important step in your job search and should not be overlooked. Within two days of submitting your application, contact potential employers. Inform them that you are interested, professional, and eager to learn more about their business or organization.
